Principle of Operation

The system operates on the principle of ion exchange. Inside the filter housing is a special ion-exchange resin (cationite). Hard water, as it passes through the resin layer, leaves its calcium (Ca^{2+}) and magnesium (Mg^{2+}) ions behind and receives safe sodium (Na^+) ions in return, which do not form scale.

The key element of the system is the electronic control valve. It completely automates the process, acting as the "brain" of the unit:

• Service Mode: The valve directs water into the column for softening.
• Regeneration: When the resin's capacity is exhausted, the valve initiates an automatic regeneration cycle. It sequentially backwashes the resin with water, draws a salt solution (brine) from a special tank to restore the resin's properties, and then rinses it with clean water, removing excess salt and accumulated impurities.

The control valve can be programmed to regenerate by volume (after a specific amount of water has been purified) or by time (after a set interval), making the system maximally efficient and economical.
